Tried, Tested & LOVED: Givenchy Eyebrow Show Powdery Eyebrow Pencil

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts, but as Ramadan has started, I've been kinda busy! And when I'm not been busy, I'm just too hungry to blog :p or do anything else for that better.

Anyway, just thought I'd do a quick review of the Givenchy Eyebrow Show (Powdery Eyebrow Pencil) that I had picked up at Harvey Nichols, Mall of the Emirates last week.

As the name suggests, it is a powdery eyebrow pencil, and that's exactly what it is.
Because it's a pencil, it's easy to use with precision, without creating a mess. And because it gives a powdery finish, your eyebrows end up looking full, but still very natural! I don't really like harsh eyebrows, so this is just perfect!
I would suggest using it with a very light hand for best results!

Even though I have black eyebrow hairs, I chose to buy it in No. 1 Brunette Show because I wanted it to look as soft and natural on my face as possible, and it cost 95 AED at Harvey Nics.

Summer Essential: Supergoop SPF 30 Anti-Aging City Sunscreen Serum

Supergoop sent me this serum more than a month ago and I've been wearing it almost daily since, especially on the days that I have to go out during the daytime. My skin is extremely sensitive to the sun and just a few minutes outside are enough for it to start looking withered.

I don't tan evenly and my skin ends up looking horrible in the summer. Even though I am well aware of the ageing and other harmful effects of the sun, I usually avoid wearing sunblock because it's just too greasy and feels heavy on the skin.  But this product has actually been great!!

It's perfect for the weather in this part of the world. It gives you sun protection without the harmful chemicals and at the same time, it has anti-ageing properties

How I use it:
I use two pumps of this on my face and neck a few seconds after I have cleansed and toned my skin in the morning.
I let it rest on my skin for a minute or so before applying my moisturizer, primer and foundation.

What I love about it:
It's very lightweight and it's not greasy...provided you give it a minute to rest before applying moisturizer.
It is fragrance, paraben and petrochemical (oxybenzone) free
Serum + suncreen in one quick step.
I feel it lets my skin breathe and I don't get the same feeling from other sun protection products.

Would I use it again?

Where is it available?
Dubai: Makeup Etc Boutique
AbuDhabi: Westin Hotel
Doha, Qatar: Four Seasons
Oman: Six Senses Spa, Zighy Bay

How much is it for?
95 AED

Level Shoe District gets Niftee for Ramadan

Aljoud Lootah of Niftee has teamed up with Level Shoe District and designed these gorgeous tote bags for charity.
The bags will sell for 160 AED at Level Shoe District (Dubai Mall) during the month of Ramadan and all the proceeds from the sales will go to charity.

I am big fan of Aljoud's work, and love the constellation inspired designs on these bags.
Apart from the totes, Aljoud's beautiful designs will be incorporated into the store's architecture, windows and furniture and also into the design of the contemporary majlis that is going to be built in the heart of the store during Ramadan.

The totes and the interiors of the store will also feature Level's Ramadan slogan penned by Emirati writer Sumayya Saqr Khalid:
"Let your steps have an impact and leave a mark."

Tried, Tested and Loved: Le Volume De Chanel

I am SUPER excited about my new mascara. I've been using Benefit's They're Real for a while now and although I was happy with it, I wanted a change!

I hadn't really heard anything about Le Volume De Chanel before I saw it in Sephora, Dubai Mall a couple of days ago, but it looked interesting so I bought it anyway.

You won't believe how sensitive my eyes are, and a lot of eyeliners and mascaras irritate them easily, making them teary and red. But I'm SO happy that this mascara does none of that, suits my eyes and makes my fine, sparse and short lashes look thick and long! This is a definite keeper and totally worth the money!

From Our World To Your Plate - Find out more about this beautiful cookbook and WIN a signed copy! (CLOSED)

I recently had the opportunity to meet the ladies behind the cookbook From Our World To Your Plate. Maria Barakat, Radia Si Youcef and Ghalia Abbas, whose kids all attend the Jumeirah Baccalaureate School in Dubai, have collected over 150 recipes and compiled them in this fantastic book, the proceeds of which will go entirely to Dubai Cares for the welfare of needy children.

The three of them started in October of 2012 and by May 2013, they had the book printed and bound, on the shelves of Kinokuniya. That's quite an achievement as all three are full time mothers and homemakers and were doing this solely for charity. They've worked on the book night and day and their hard work shows! Everything from photography and graphic design, to compilation & editing has been done entirely by the three of them alone.

The book is a labour of love with recipes contributed by several JBS moms who hail from all corners of the world, making this a real international medley of recipes. What's heartwarming is that these aren't overly complicated recipes you would find online or in some famous chef's book! But instead these are recipes of dishes that other women like you and I cook in their homes and are loved and appreciated by their families.

The book is available at Kinokuniya in The Dubai Mall and Book Munch, Al Wasl Square.
It is priced at 110 AED and every single dirham is going to needy kids around the world via Dubai Cares.

I asked Ghalia, Radia and Maria to sign my copy of FOWTYP and I'm giving that away to one lucky reader.

There are three ways of winning:

Like my facbook page HERE and the book's facebook page HERE

Follow me on Twitter HERE & FOWTYP on twitter HERE

If you are on Instagram, you could follow us there! Follow me HERE and also follow the book's instagram account HERE

After you've followed, make sure you leave a comment below with your name, email and your instagram/twitter/facebook name

The competition is open internationally and a winner will be chosen on July 1st.

UPDATE: Rifat Tahir has been randomly selected as the winner!
